Singer and songwriter Prudence Mabhena is the star of MUSIC BY PRUDENCE, which received the Academy Award® for best documentary (short subject) on March 7. MUSIC BY PRUDENCE tells the inspiring story of a young band of disabled Zimbabweans and their lead singer, Prudence Mabhena. The film follows Prudence and her fellow musicians as they find social acceptance in a society where physical disabilities so far have been seen as a curse and where many people are often disowned by their families. www.musicbyprudence.com. 8:15PM: *The Eyes of Me
THE EYES OF ME captures the stories of four teenagers at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a public residential high school in Austin that has educated visually impaired students for more than 150 years. THE EYES OF ME takes an extraordinary look into the world of blind teenagers — where crossing an intersection, cooking a meal, or navigating social interactions can be a challenge unlike any that sighted viewers must consider —and offers fresh perspectives on growing up, fitting in, and preparing for adulthood. www.eyesofme.com. 2:00PM: Shorts
Collide, Choreographed by Tanya Winters and Ceniza Weir
; is a dance of trust. It explores the depths of dependency, stereotypes, and fears while uncovering a reciprocal relationship filled with growth and support. Collide asks us to reach beyond ourselves and go further. www.actualives.org

The Scary Lewis Yell-A-Thon, produced by Mickee Faust and Terry Galloway, is a darkly comic look at televised charity telethons that raise funds to “help” people with disabilities. The video features a seedy Jerry Lewis-like emcee, complete with sidekick Dead McMahon. The out-of-pocket Yell-a-thon's single talent act is Little Lori Little, a baton twirler with cerebral palsy. After a mishap with flaming batons, Scary Lewis introduces the charity's moneymaker, Teensy Weensy Tiny Teena, a tear-inducing Inspirational Cripple. www.gimpparade.com.

2:30PM: NoBody’s Perfect
The German produced documentary film NoBody’s Perfect follows Niko von Glasow as he looks for eleven people who, like him, were born disabled due to the side-effects of Thalidomide, and who are prepared to pose for a book of photos. And to pose naked - to allow those who regularly throw furtive glances at Thalidomiders and other physically disabled people, to take a good, long look. In the process Niko discovers many fascinating characters who work in such diverse areas as politics, the media, sport, astrophysics and acting. www.nobodysperfect-film.de.
