My Characters taking a Walk
11" x 8" Inked Scratchboard and Color Pencil

"I get ideas for my art from my games and television. I like to create my own characters. My sister taught me to draw in the cartoon style. I like to try new things in art. I draw at lunch. I talk to others about my art.

The characters are walking in a scene from a cartoon. I did the drawing first in pencil then I traced it onto the scratch board. My teacher taught me how to use the special knives to draw on the inked scratchboard. Some of the drawing is darker because of the shadows. I created a color scheme last with color pencils. It is a warm color scheme because I used violets, reds, yellows, and oranges. I like this scratchboard. I created it from my own ideas and invented the characters."
