Slowly recovering from a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from MST, life has had some extreme traumatic episodes. Art has been incredibly therapeutic in conjunction with medications, therapy, and a loving and supportive family environment. The recovery has been a long, drawn-out, slow and heavily introverted suffering struggle. The Truth has finely freed me to assert myself in a highly functioning creative manner. Though highly functioning in some areas I lack organizational skills but strive to do my best in all I endeavor.
I am presently a dedicated student intending to obtain an internship either in Ministry, Biblical Counseling, Biblical Research, or Occupational Therapy in which potentially will have an impact on personal human development towards the wellness of others. I enjoy helping others express their Creative spirit through various mediums of art; whereas, I have employed Pen/Ink Illustrations, Mixed Media, Various forms of Woodcarving including Chip Carving, Line Carving, and am presently interested in learning the various forms and stages of Relief Carving for an Architectural audience.
I have carved plaques, plates, panels, a White Oak Dining Table, as well as Ink on Birch-wood/Pine panels. I love geometric designs, and am exploring a fascination with the geometry designs of various parts of the world; i.e. Islamic, Asian, Northern European, Oceania, Celtic, and more.
I also enjoy the special effects of Pyrography or Wood-burning. I also have carved various wooden crosses and am working on a Cherry Table leg to study furniture carving. I have studied Drafting & Design at Durham Business College in 1975 and San Antonio College in 1976.
I will be working towards a degree in Religious Studies. I have mentored and worked with children employing their creative genius through an artistic freedom of expression.
