Hello. My name is John Evans. I am a Visual Artist/Illustrator/Artisan. I have a disability that has stabilized. I enjoy art and also creating wooden model ships by hand. I have created many works since I was a young man. I love life and the ability I have been blessed with to express myself. My primary focus is generally Pen & Ink but I have been exploring the wonderful world of Mixed Media. I love to incorporate Oils and Ink in one format. I am presently working on pieces that reflect generations past of the indigenous and early settling peoples of the Continental US. I have many ideas for advancement within this genre of Mixed Media.
I also build large scale wooden model ships typically of the 18th century. I have studied Naval Architecture as a hobby and have learned much in terms of Hydrostatics, Resistance, Stability and the Methods of Calculations that are applied to creating the Coefficients of form that shape the design of the ship’s hull. I mostly enjoy sailing Tallships or Yachts and my favorite Yachts were first designed by the Dutch. But typically, I enjoy all vessels of the 18th century.
I love to do volunteer work to aid with helpful applications to influence not only my art but my relationships with good folks who generally take an interest in the creative process as well as the results. I enjoy learning at my own pace and enjoy helping people.
