“Art is therapeutic. It allows me to enter a world of creativity and to express favorable memories in graphic form. Art creation allows me the opportunity to forget about past unhappy experiences and physical pain.
I have multiple disabilities. The one most apparent is osteo-arthritis and bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, uncorrected by surgery. My hand hurts but I refuse to give in, so I keep active in doing my art. I hope some day that my art becomes significant in the art world. My art is an expression of my thoughts and emotions, reflecting the diversity of my ethnicity. I am a Black woman born in America of African descent. My art tells a story of what I saw and the experience I encountered.”
