Opening Minds, Opening Doors: Promoting Self-Advocates as Speakers

The OMOD project is heading to Houston!

We are looking for self-advocates with developmental disabilities, ages 18 and older, who are interested in sharing their stories at conferences and other events in Texas. Find your voice, tell your story, and be an advocate!

These works cover themes related to their service ranging from the Korean War to OEF/OIF conflicts, as well as themes from their civilian lives. See the world through the eyes of those who served us in this thought provoking exhibition.

Body Shift is a mixed ability dance project

For over 10 years, Forklift Danceworks and VSA Texas have engaged in the world of mixed-ability improvisational dance. Everyone moves in unique and different ways, and Body Shift offers dance classes for anyone to explore movement and the body. Body Shift creates a welcoming environment that empowers everyone to fully embrace dancing in their own unique way promoting the idea every Body can find enjoyment in contemporary dancing.
