Programs - Professional Development

VSA arts of Texas offers a number of professional development opportunities to increase professionalism of Texas artists, educators, and parents with and without disabilities through skills building and career development activities and by providing technical assistance and consultation for those working with these individuals.

Start with the Arts Training

The Start with the Arts workshop shows creative ways to integrate the arts into early childhood learning in inclusive settings. Based on a nationally recognized teacher's resource, participants are encouraged to rediscover their own creativity and learn powerful tools for sharing the joy of visual art, music, dance/movement, and drama with all children, including those with disabilities. Material is fully aligned to the TEKS standards in all subject areas for grades Kindergarten thru three, as well as Pre-kindergarten Guidelines. Learn more about Start with the Arts Training

Artworks

The Artworks series is geared towards working with artists with disabilities of all levels and mediums to develop successful strategies to reduce the barriers to pursuing a career in the arts. Through lecture and hands-on workshops, artists learn necessary skills to making a successful career. Learn more about the Artworks program.
