Volunteer Opportunities

VSA arts of Texas offers a number of fun and engaging volunteer opportunities. Whether you want to learn about working with people with disabilities, or simply like participating in art activities, we can help you find a volunteer position right for you.

Actual Lives Performance Volunteer

A performance by a cast of 13 adults with disabilities working hard to create theatre from the raw material of everyday life. Volunteers are needed for the following positions:

Concession Sales, Ticket Sales, Door Monitors, and Ticket Takers

Volunteers need to arrive at 12:00 PM for the Matinee and 6:00 PM for the Evening show. You will work before the show, during intermission, and directly after, and still get to enjoy the show. Audio Description Volunteers

Various local theaters (ongoing opportunity)

Volunteers are needed to describe cultural arts events to people who are blind or visually impaired. If you have a way with words and like to share your love of the arts with others, this is the opportunity for you! Get in free to movies, plays, and art events while giving back to your community. Most events are evenings and weekends. A three-hour training session and mentorship process is required.
